Even Haberman
Maggie Haberman on that press conference full of lies:
President Trump broke a two-day silence with reporters to deliver a brief statement filled with egregious falsehoods and smears about the election process as workers in a handful of states continued to tabulate votes.
The president painted the election results so far as part of a broad conspiracy to deprive him of a second term by Democrats, election officials in various cities and the news media.
“If you count the legal votes, I easily win,” Mr. Trump began when he took the podium in the White House briefing room, a false statement that cast aspersion on the rest of the election. He offered no evidence; instead, he listed a series of conspiracy theories about why ballots arrived late in some places.
At the same time that he insisted that Democrats were figuring out how many mail-in ballots they needed to counteract his performance in various states, the president listed a series of successful Republican wins on Tuesday and appeared unaware of the cognitive dissonance in saying that other Republicans had won while he lost as he claimed a plot to harm him.
Well he’s a stupid guy as well as a lying treasonous piece of crap.
Where I come from, yelling “fire!” in a crowded theatre when there is no basis for doing so, can get one arrested and in due course sentenced to serious porridge, especially if injuries and/or loss of life result.
I think that Trump’s campaign indicates that throwing around charges of “fraud…!!!!” when there is no basis for doing so should, if subsequently proved baseless and motivated by desire for personal gain, likewise earn the “fraud…!!!!” chucker a stretch in some suitable slammer, simply because it is a cynical debasement of the electoral system, and cannot be reasonably seen in any other way.
Otherwise, the whole electoral process finishes up in a downward spiral that ends in a swamp.
Hard to watch Trump claim victimhood. For a person to have so many advantages in life and be such a wretch is pathetic. He’s a victim of his own contempt for people, everyone is a lying cheat because that’s to only lens he has to see through, and so he projects that lens on everyone else. I don’t want us to see what he sees anymore.
Now Trump is saying twitter is “out of control” because of section 230 protections. Really, just noticing that? Twitter has been a sewer, including his garbage, since it’s inception. This is what 230 protects, not the right for websites to censor whatever they want. He should go somewhere else if he doesn’t like it. Start a Mar A Lago community website, maybe it won’t fail like his other ventures. Some people are obviously interested in what he has to say, though I can’t figure out why.
For the same reason some people slow down to see the aftermath of traffic accidents.
Watching the worthless Don Jr. and Eric whine about the results is pretty satisfying. Their heads look like they are about to explode. :D
Yeah, no one likes the results when they lose. I get that. Nixon didn’t like losing to Kennedy, but after having a handful of states recounted (his right), he conceded. Clinton didn’t like losing to Trump, but she gave a very gracious concession speech and moved on, even though she had a major win in the popular vote.
Get over it, Trump-spawn. Yeah, it’s fun to watch them sputter.
I was listening to 1-A on NPR talk about this conference, and they kept using the phrase “false statements”. Four years of this shit and they still can’t bring themselves to save time, in one of the most time-sensitive formats in media, by trimming out two-thirds of the syllables and saying, “lies”. Blerg.
