Disastrous and deadly
In the wake of devastating new reporting by Vanity Fair, a chorus of voices Friday called for the immediate resignation of Jared Kushner, a top White House advisor and the son-in-law of President Donald Trump, for disastrous—and deadly—failures by the administration that appear to have put the political desires of the president above the public health needs of the American people.
“Imagine the administration had intel on an imminent terrorist attack that would kill over 100,000 people, and chose to do nothing because it was politically easier,” tweeted Matt Duss, foreign policy advisor for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), on his personal account. “That’s what we have here. We need to be talking about accountability. For all of it.”
If only he would go poof into thin air.
Yes, but Hilary called some people “deplorable”!
I ask you, what is worse, mildly insulting some of your political opponent, or consigning thousands of people to die because they happen to live in a state that didn’t support you politically?
You’re channeling Skeletor again, aren’t you.
Resign from what? As far as I know, Jared has no official position. Does he resign from being Trump’s son-in-law?
It’s spelled p-r-i-s-o-n, he should go to prison and rot.
Colin,
Are you seriously under the impression that he is just some relative who shows up for the occasional Thanksgiving dinner and gets consulted for advice now and then?
Ten seconds of research would have revealed that Kushner has the title of Senior Advisor to the President. He enjoys a Top Secret security clearance — granted after considerable controversy, and quite possibly with intervention by the president. I presume he has an office and an assistant, although he has apparently waived the salary that comes with that title. He has purported to conduct all sorts of official business on behalf of the United States government, including the Coronavirus response and a Middle East peace plan.
OB@2,
Honestly, I didn’t have him in mind specifically, just a generic kind of “I’m a liberal, but…” type. (They bear an astonishing resemblance to the “I’m an atheist, but…” folks.)
I saw a video recently that gave a good exploration of the Trump regime’s strategy and its results:

With a President like this, who needs terrorists?
A lot of Trumpanzees would probably agree with Kushner.
There is no “American people” any more. Blue America and Red America are two mutually-hostile nations superimposed on the same territory. We have the numbers, but for now, they have the government. For us, the Trump regime might as well be an enemy military occupation. If you look at it that way, Kushner’s callousness makes sense.
Kill all the Canaanites (but keep the virgin girls for yourselves).

Is Senior Advisor an actual position?
