Bickering canceled for the duration
Cool, this is helpful – the Surgeon General of the US tells us to stop bickering and focus on this health crisis problem.
Right, because we’re the ones who’ve been doing all that, as opposed to the bloated ignorant orange menace he works for.
If the results are positive are they going to tell us?
We can’t believe anything they say. We’re on our own.
So basically he admits that the poor response is the Republican Party’s fault, and that a big chunk of this is down to policies he supports, so please don’t talk about it, because that might cost his party votes, and that might cost him his job.
“He did not mention the President’s twitter feed”.
If only twitter would shut down for a couple of months and give us all a break from each other. :D
How about if the surgeon general sticks to surgeon general stuff?
It doesn’t take that long to do the test, especially if you put it at the front of the queue which I assume the president would be. They know the answer, or they will very soon.
If we don’t hear from the White House on Monday that he has tested negative then we can safely assume he has tested positive. Mind you, even if he did test positive they might lie about it anyway. So he can go on to infect who knows how many people.
“This is supposed to be a happy occasion! Let’s not bicker and argue over who killed who…..”
From what I have seen elsewhere, the surgeon general also refused to say how many Americans have been tested to date. Claiming that he doesn’t want to give a stat that changes minute to minute, but he also refused to give any last known figures even with the caveat that it may have changed since then. So. He sure seems trustworthy…
Who wants to bet he wears a military uniform because Trump thinks the Surgeon General of the United States should look like a general, you know, like from Central Casting. Centcom stuff.
Seth I’ll take that bet, as in bet you’re wrong. :^) As per wikipedia:
Though I do understand the assumption that it was all about the object occupying the white house. I actually learned that back when they taught civics in public school (1970-83), an all-too-brief era with decent educational funding, before “Reaganomics”.
Hi, Mike, I remember that period. I learned a lot of things in civics, but Reagan claimed we had a crisis in education because no one was learning anything. Since there wasn’t actually a crisis in education (though of course there were always things that needed to be changed, but not to the level of a crisis), he decided to create one. Starve the schools.
Mike, fair enough. I see Obama’s surgeons general also wore naval uniforms. It appears baffling from the outside, though.
