A person who carries and gives birth to a baby
Speaking of disordered personalities and trans activism – see Freddy McConnell.
A transgender man who gave birth to a child has lost his latest legal bid to be registered on the birth certificate as the father rather than the mother.
Aka a woman who trashed her body so that she could look a little bit like a man wants to make sure her child will be legally deprived of a mother.
Freddy McConnell appealed against a decision made by a High Court judge that a person who carries and gives birth to a baby is legally a mother.
Legally and factually and physically. That’s what “mother” means – the parent who gestates the baby inside her body. No mother no baby; that’s the reality.
Andrew Spearman, from Laytons law firm, said the decision had not recognised Mr McConnell’s legal gender “and, importantly, the role he takes in his son’s life as his father”.
What about the role he takes in his son’s life as his bathtub, or his teddy bear, or his beans on toast? McConnell isn’t his father, and babies don’t understand role playing. McConnell should put the kid first and ego last.
But the decision does recognise McConnell’s role as the Childs mother. Win for the child.
This always reads to me like the ultimate in eating your cake and having it too.
I’ve every sympathy for people who feel they are trapped in the wrong body. However one thing that men don’t do (and it’s arguably the defining thing) is give birth. It’s like me claiming to be vegetarian because I spend most of my time not eating meat – none at all if you discount the periods spent eating.
Me too. You want to be a man, you claim to be a man, you get pregnant and give birth to a baby.
(To be fair, I’m sure LARP is difficult to maintain 24/7.)
This is one of those things that make my head spin. If you have gender dysphoria, then we’re told anything that refers to your sexed body or the use of the wrong pronouns or “deadnaming” causes tremendous pain and suffering.
So how does this square with pregnancy? Pregnancy is one of the ultimate expressions of female sex – if you’re dysphoric how is this not a horrendous experience?
And if you don’t have gender dysphoria – why the fuck are you appropriating the term “trans”? If you’re a bloke and you want to wear lipstick or a skirt, go for your life. Be gender nonconforming – that’s awesome. Will it be awkward or even dangerous in the gents? Yeah, unfortunately. Men are assholes. But passing that assholery on to women’s shoulders is definitely gender conforming.
