Women’s bodies don’t belong to them
Abortion rights? The Supreme Court looks the other way.
The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a challenge to a Kentucky law requiring doctors to describe ultrasound images and play fetal heartbeat sound to abortion seekers.
…
Challengers, including an abortion clinic, argued that the law forced patients to see the images even if she didn’t want to, and that it violated doctors’ First Amendment rights.
…
Civil rights groups blasted the court’s decision not to take up the challenge.
“By refusing to review the 6th Circuit’s ruling, the Supreme Court has rubber-stamped extreme political interference in the doctor-patient relationship,” said Alexa Kolbi-Molinas, senior staff attorney at the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. “This law is not only unconstitutional, but as leading medical experts and ethicists explained, deeply unethical.”
Oh well, it’s only women.
When I had my abortion, I was required to look at the fetal ultrasound. They didn’t tell me anything about it, I just had to look at it. It didn’t have any effect on me; I had made up my mind. I can see how this behavior could be manipulative for many women, though, who may find the decision very difficult or even heart wrenching.
The Supreme Court sucks.
But her emails…
Blood Knight,
Yes, and throw in the “it doesn’t matter who you vote for, they’re all the same” crowd, too.
Yes, Brett Kavanaugh is EXACTLY like Merrick Garland…er…sort of like…er…not much like…
If Hillary had been president, there would have been things that we didn’t like, things she did wrong. But she would not have put Neil Gorsuch or Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh may be the worse of the two – his open contempt for women is a disgrace.
She wouldn’t have put anyone on the court… we’d be at 7-8 seats (if not less). If Biden wins I expect the court to go down to 8 fairly soon thereafter. We lost our chance to repair the court when a bunch of dumbfucks/selfish assholes let that monster win.
