My guess is McKinnon made the argument made by incels and alt-right people every time they get caught saying something rancid: it was in jest, it was non-literal etc., with the added argument that it is not the same coming from a trans person because [oppression olympics bullshit]. That and the fact that Twitter reviewers have shown a strong bias towards shutting down feminists and feminist talking points.
There exists a “transgender identified male” Jenn Smith who opposes aggressive trans ideologues. Gets some trans activists rather up in arms when mentioned, and the local news for a town they’re to visit soon is describing Jenn unironically as a “self-identified transgender speaker” rather than the “transgender son” sort of terminology reserved apparently for *True transpersons: https://www.mapleridgenews.com/news/trans-activist-calls-anti-sogi-presentation-in-maple-ridge-hate-speech/
Yep. That’s got me convinced. Winning argument right there.
Maybe if it wasn’t all caps?
I don’t get it at all; I guess this philosophical reasoning is beyond my rude understanding of logic.
?’roid rage?
“permanent”
How many temporary suspensions does it take to get a real ban? I’m pretty sure McK is going to provide plenty more bannable material.
I would love for McK to be gone from Twitter, because they are so unrelentingly awful and because such a ban would be so frustrating for them.
I’ve seen lots of people saying it’s actually good for the cyclepath to be on Twitter, where they can peak trans everyone who sees their tweets.
Cyclepath, lol.
How does one get back from a ban for misogyny and survive their first tweet being a gloat against “Bitches”?
@Rob
Be a man apparently.
Rob, didn’t you know? Bitches is okay. It’s just women.
And this person is teaching young people, who will be stuck paying off their student loans for his ‘education’ for years and years?
As it is on Twitter, it can be classed as a TWEET. But as it is also a brain-fart, I suppose that all-up, it best qualifies as a TWART.
Rob,

Having never heard of Jenn before now I looked up their blog: https://transanityca.wordpress.com
Just to point to a bit of hope that not all ‘publically vocal’ transwomen are obnoxious, selfish misogynists…
Banned from Twitter? Hell, what does it take to be censured by one’s university or even have tenure revoked, if not public threats of violence?
It’s just an idiom and so anyone who takes it seriously should just lighten up hohoho.
It really isn’t cute at all, particularly coming from a male bodied person, directed at, overwhelmingly, female bodied people.
There are trans people who oppose the toxic ideology.
But of course, no true Scotsman, etc. etc.
