Broad hesitation to go into detail with Mr Trump
Interesting.
Blockbuster story buried in this NYT report.
Pentagon, intelligence officials fear they cannot trust Trump enough to brief him fully on new US cyber operation against Russia for fear he will "countermand it or discuss it with foreign officials" as he did before with Russians. pic.twitter.com/BgSF3zi8nm

It turns out there are drawbacks to having a president who is too childish and reckless and self-serving to be trusted with…anything, basically.
The US military is not briefing the US president on major cyber warfare operations against a hostile foreign power because they do not trust the president not to betray those operations to that hostile foreign power.

But hey, happy Flag Day, or something.
How long before Mr. Stable Genius demands to be told the details on this? I can imagine Putin suggesting this to him. “Why Donnie, my military and intellligence people never keep anything fom me. It would be disrespectful. You deserve the same respect. Find out what they’re not telling you, and then you can tell me all about how your Deep State Enemies have been so mean and unfair to you. I’ll be waiting. We’ll have ice cream.”
The US equivalent was (and still is, I believe) NAMBLA – the North American Man/Boy Love Association. It campaigned on very similar grounds, albeit with a nod to the “heroic ideal” of ancient Greek pederasty.
Eventually, NAMBLA was expelled by all mainstream all LGBT organisations. We can only hope…
Sorry… that should have been a comment on the PIE story. No idea how it got here!
Just paste it in if you like and I’ll delete this one.
I’m not sure what I find more shocking: that the world’s largest superpower has a president who cannot be trusted with that nation’s secrets, or that the Pentagon has so little respect, coupled with so much contempt for the president that they’ll publically state the fact that he’s not to be trusted.
Interesting times, indeed.
