Human rights are human rights. What are “trans rights” exactly? If they mean trans people should be free from persecution and oppression, then sure, of course trans rights are human rights, just as other branches-of-human rights are. But if they mean special “rights” crafted specifically for trans people, then it depends. The right not to be bullied for wearing “the wrong” clothes? Sure. The right to force everyone to agree you are the other sex? No.
Well, Amnesty UK? Are you?

Not a discussion. Not an argument. This is a demand for obedience, a demand for compliance, a not so subtle reminder to shut up and sit down, hot on the heels of the Forstater ruling. This the verbal equivalent of whacking a dog on the nose with a rolled up newspaper. Repeatedly.
As my wife (who is a dog trainer herself) says, what you get when you whack a dog with a rolled-up newspaper is a dog that shuts down. It’s called “learned helplessness” and it’s also what verbal abuse does to people. Intimidate and shut gender-critical people up, not with reason but with dominance. It’s working thanks to platforms like Twitter that not only help facilitate such behavior, but also ban women who fight back. There is a huge problem with the fact that such bias on dominant social media platforms like Twitter contributes to women feeling helpless in the face of demands to accept things they don’t want to accept but are being forced to acquiesce to.
It also makes for a very anxious dog, one that is more likely to bite. Positive punishment is a dangerous thing.
Are they even listening?
“Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.”
How is ANY of that not human rights and trans rights?
They NEVER acknowledge that we agree on the basic human rights. Never. It’s as if we never said anything about rights for trans people. And that’s not true. That’s a lie.
They are pretending to be what they cannot be. They are pretending to be about human rights when that’s not what they are after. The entire structure is a tissue of lies.
Here’s something that just recently clicked for me: a person or organisation’s language takes a nosedive when it takes up the TRA cause. “A = B” on repeat, as opposed to making a reasoned statement.
Because repetition is about all that is available when your cause runs counter to reason.
They’re using “=” incorrectly. It should be trans rights ⊆ human rights.
And that’s why they’re so fanatic about it. The cognitive dissonance must be overwhelming. Any challenge to the belief system is intolerable.
