Your silence is absolutely deafening
At least some people are noticing.
The President openly declares he is above the law. This statement alone would have led to calls for impeachment in a previous era. https://t.co/dawuWli1t2

Republicans in Congress: This is dictator-like talk and your silence is absolutely deafening. Time to put the interests of the country above party. https://t.co/QRuiixyvCV

She’s our Rep by the way, Seattle’s own.

It’s… Oddly, awfully poetic, really. Almost a literary trope. That being: that when it collapses to tyranny, it so proceeds because of some kind of dulled, stunned apathy. Not with a bang but a whimper/sleepwalking onto the killing floor.
I wish I had more concrete suggestions. Not quite wonkish enough on the US system to know which lever _might_ be worth leaning on, here. Seems absurd, to me, that a centuries old system allegedly with all these protections might need some serious, messy, street-level pushback from the citizenry even to stop so incredibly obvious, so absurdy Snidely Whiplash, so ridiculously, blatantly corrupt a power grab as this.
Fucking hell, the current congressional majority has a lot to answer for. And those who paved the way to this, with decades of cynical culture war noise.
