Razor blade hoax
There was a claim circulating that feminists had placed stickers at a Manchester railway station with razor blades behind them. That never did make much sense – wouldn’t they be visible behind a flat piece of paper? Also why would feminists seek to discredit themselves that way? Also what about the possibility that this is just yet more of the pretending that women are the source of violent aggression and men are their powerless victims?
Bloody hell. The lie that women are putting razor blades under stickers in Manchester has got over 1K likes. pic.twitter.com/VLS7ImSb0j

So anyway, the police checked, and sure enough – it was bullshit.

Sticker claims – Manchester Oxford RoadBritish Transport Police (BTP) were made aware of a tweet – dated 5 September – stating that stickers, with razor blades behind them, were put up in the toilets of Manchester Oxford Road train station.
Officers have attended the station to investigate this claim and have confirmed there is no evidence of this.
BTP has a tried and tested system in place for dealing with hoaxes designed to cause minimum disruption whilst ensuring the safety of members of the public and rail staff.
Nevertheless, hoaxers waste considerable police time and divert our much-needed resources from other duties. We will continue to monitor the situation and will take further action should this malicious activity continue.
Women as a class are not the oppressors of men as a class. Making up stories about razor blades behind feminist stickers is not going to flip that.
No, but it’s true! I read it on the internet!
Stay safe, everyone.
OK, I’m confused. So, if there were a sticker with a razor blade behind it, and you ignored it, nothing happens. If you peel the sticker off, it comes with a razor blade stuck to the back. And…? I don’t understand what the tweeter thinks that the supposed perpetrators of this action are even trying to accomplish.
Just… what?
Karellen,
I’m guessing that the idea is that opponents of TERFs will attempt to remove the stickers, and somehow cut themselves on the razors in the process? Not sure how plausible that is.
Even if it were true that someone was doing this, and that the intent was to injure whoever attempts to remove the sticker, surely there’s at least as much danger of injuring the janitorial staff or other “third parties” so to speak? Which I would think would be bad publicity and therefore obviously dumb and self-defeating? (Though maybe I’m showing my ignorance of Manchester subway stations here — does everyone just slap stickers up that get left on indefinitely unless removed by an ideological opponent? I think I finally understand cricket, don’t confuse me with more bizarre British customs!)
Oh yes, and the “activists” have been blaming “TERFs” for the imagined injuries to the cleaners, too. Make up one thing make up a hundred things, it’s all the same.
The razor blades were obviously meant to remind transwomen that they need to shave their ladybeards, and that is literally murder.
I don’t know what it says about me that I was able to to figure this out, but I assume that the razor blades are placed so that they line up with the corners of the sticker. When someone tries to peel the sticker off, they slice their fingertips. I guess the idea is that people who disagree strongly enough with the message of the sticker that they decide to remove it are precisely the people who deserve to have their fingertips sliced off, or be beaten with pink baseball bats, or whatever.
I need to go and think about kittens now.

Strange how the tactic they accuse others of using is exactly the sort of small but vindictive thing we would expect from people that punch little middle aged ladies and then running away. They display themselves in their accusation.
And….they’re poisoning the wells!
They make matzoh from the blood of trans babies!
