Kids do that. I suppose it’s part of the process of learning to live in the social world – they police each other and are policed in turn. It’s awful.
Wow, no insisting that his son is his daughter just because nails/purse… This can’t be real. /s
God, that’s sad.
And trans ideology does nothing to end this sort of gender policing. All it has to offer a child like Sam is transition or a label like “non-binary” or “genderqueer”–a gender box within which his self-expression can be seen as acceptable.
And within which boys still don’t get to wear nail polish without remark.
Where were the teachers in all this? Children that young are not left alone to play Lord of the Flies, surely?
Ah #3. That’s exactly what teachers do. Unless they are actively promoting the bullying. What’s especially galling in an example like this is the way the underclass (children here, women in cases like Kavanaugh and Roy Moore) enforce their own oppression.
#4, they don’t see it as oppression. They believe they are simply “real” or “natural”, and all the others are “unnatural” (at least in the case of women. I don’t think the children are thinking it through that much, they are simply socialized by their parents, TV, and everyone else to see things a certain way, and children often have very rigid views of what is the right way and the wrong way).
My mother actually believed that it was the feminists trying to oppress her. If they had their way, she was sure, she would have to get divorced from my father, go to work (a prospect that frightened her, as my mother was the laziest person I have ever known), and put all her kids up for adoption. Because she believed that feminists wanted it where those things were no longer allowed. None of them ever said that, in fact, most of them were trying to get payment for housework/child rearing for those women who stayed home, but my mother could not hear that. All she knew was women were wearing skirts that were too short, insisting on pushing their way into a world that rightfully belonged to men, and abandoning the responsibilities of a woman. She saw the liberation the feminists were demanding as being oppressive.
Wow.
That poor lad.
My grandson has been wearing nail varnish to school, off and on, since he was was at nursery (he’s nearly eight) and no-one has ever remarked on it.
Wow.
