How you tell a joke that everyone likes
See @michelleisawolf, this is how you tell a non-offensive joke that everyone likes. pic.twitter.com/JCQ3ii1h7H

(Am I obsessed? Yes, kind of. I’m horrified at all this respectability-clutching about a comic who tells acidic jokes about the liars who work for the liar in chief. I’m horrified that much of it is coming from journalists.)
If George Carlin were still alive, this dispute would kill him…
It’s repellent and shocking. Had no idea the press corps was THIS bad. THIS many of them. My god. They’re not press, they’re employees of the administration.
I think we have to confide in reporters who are from outside the U.S. working for companies themselves outside it for reporting that’s not warped by fear of retaliation, much like any other state where the rule of law and freedom of the press are compromised. It’s familiar in Russia and China, for instance. No more worrying about it happening here – it has.
There are two major reasons for the reaction to Michelle Wolf: 1) everything she said is true, which doesn’t sit well with obsequious virtue-signaling hypocrites, and 2) she’s a woman.
Has Sarah Huckabee Sanders herself even complained about the jokes?
I have harshly criticized people for knocking her appearance, but this was borderline at worst (complimenting her makeup, perhaps sarcastically, to set up a joke about how much she lies). The main point was the lying.
So I’d read transcripts, but I finally watched it. I think people are rushing to her defense because, contrary to what has been said, she did not take it well at all, looking ready to burst into tears.
Michelle Wolf’s comedy was pretty biting, so I could see people being turned off, but she certainly didn’t eapecially go after Sanders. For one example, she referred to something being like “shooting fish in a Chris Christie”, which is much more of an appearance slam than the “smokey eye” comment.
These are big, strong Republicans, not snowflakes. They’ll be fine!
