I recall that when I lived in Australia the sunrises/sunsets were always spectacular when there were bushfires. As long as there wasn’t so much soot in the air that it blocked the sunlight, of course.
I don’t think this one is actually a product of fires, I think it’s just high clouds. I could be wrong, because it is looking east and there are fires in eastern Washington…but I think these clouds are over the mountains, while the fires are farther east, beyond the mountains.
Tigger, when Australia has significant bush fires new Zealand, especially the South Island gets spectacular sunsets. Sometimes for weeks. During one especially bad spell of fires I was flying and you couldn’t see the ground the smoke over us was so thick.
