After the scores of deaths
The United States blocked a United Nations Security Council statement drafted Monday that called for an independent investigation into Monday’s killing of at least 58 Palestinians along the Israeli-Gaza border. The deaths, alongside some 2,700 people who were injured, made Monday the deadliest day in Gaza since 2014. The protests erupted on the same day as the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem—a move that outraged Palestinians and many in the Muslim world. The statement, vetoed by the U.S., said in an initial draft: “The Security Council expresses its outrage and sorrow at the killing of Palestinian civilians exercising their right to peaceful protest. The Security Council calls for an independent and transparent investigation into these actions to ensure accountability.” After the scores of deaths on Monday, White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah blamed Hamas, refused to criticize Israel, and said: “Israel has a right to defend itself.”
Not by shooting unarmed protesters it doesn’t.
I know one former officer of the Israeli commandos, who just shakes his head and laments the whole Israel project. “It is terrible. It was never supposed to turn out like this”, he says.
And he fought for Israel in the Six-Day War.

“Israel has a right to defend itself”.
From Palestinians forced into various ghettos? The European colonists in the Americas, Africa, Australia and NZ also ‘defended’ themselves from the indigenous inhabitants.
Unarmed civilians? There were Palestinian snipers, and Palestinian firebomb throwers. Their professed aim was to go through the fence to kill Israelis.
2700 of them? I think not…
Yeah, I don’t believe those figures either.

Have you ever considered why the fence exists in the first place? Why does there seem ito be such a singular hatred for Palestinians in the US?
Hamas is a gangster regime, in control of Gaza, not the West Bank. It is NOT any kind of ‘spontaneous demonstration taking place on the border. Hamas has been caught faking atrocities and deliberately exposing civilians to military force to win western support.
And the Israelis have been facing these creeps for decades. It is inexcusable for them not to have better tactics and policy in hand for a case like this. Especially when Big Cheeto just threw a hand-grenade into the mix.
Maybe if Bibi got Vlad to spray nerve gas on them, the ‘progressives’ would go back to sleep.
“Have you ever considered why the fence exists in the first place? ”
Yes. Have you ever considered why the fence is necessary? It wasn’t too long ago that suicide bombers were blowing up buses in Israel. Hamas is still building tunnels.
“Why does there seem ito be such a singular hatred for Palestinians in the US?”
I haven’t seen any hatred towards individual Palestinians. If they aren’t sending money to Hamas, I, at least, have no problems with them.

Wrong, the fence exists because of colonisation, occupation and land theft. Try to consider events that occurred earlier than last week.
