Things will work out just fine
Don from the outer boroughs gave a commencement address at the Coast Guard Academy just now. He talked about himself.
President Donald Trump, amid his own swirling controversies, advised United States Coast Guard Academy graduates that while things aren’t always fair, “you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight.”
The comment was a clear reference to the fact that Trump’s White House is now besieged by bipartisan questions about his alleged request that former FBI Director James Comey to halt an investigation into his former top national security aide.
“Never, never, never give up. Things will work out just fine,” he said in New London, Connecticut, Wednesday.
Right. Good advice. Always assume you’re right, no matter what; always assume that any disagreement is wildly unfair and that you should fight fight fight fight fight fight fight fight. Unless of course you’re disputing Donald Trump, in which case you should prostrate yourself and beg for clemency.
Then he went to directly talking about himself – as he always does.
“Look at the way I have been treated lately, especially by the media,” he said. “No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down, you can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams.”
No politician in history is it.

Actually, I think he’s right that he’s being treated unfairly. After all, that doesn’t always mean he’s getting the short end of the stick. In fact, he is getting so unfairly treated that he is getting away with things that are endangering the country, and very few in the media are willing to come out bluntly and say “Mr. Trump, you are a horrible person. Please go away”
And look at Obama – from the second he was elected, there was a howling mob demanding he be ousted from the office he had legitimately won. Because they didn’t like that he was not white, because they didn’t like that he was Democrat, because they didn’t like that he was smarter than all Republican presidents in my lifetime put together…(Nixon was clever, but maybe not particularly smart). Long form birth certificate, Donnie? Remember that? No, because he was putting his head down and fighting, fighting, fighting. It is unfair to bring that up because…he is Trump. The Real Donald J. Trump. He won…did you know he won? He had a very big crowd at his inauguration…the biggest crowd ever…he won the biggest percentage of the vote ever…he is…shit, is this guy really president? Or is it just, like, a big April Fool’s joke that went all Groundhog Day on us?
There’s a reason Egon said “don’t cross the streams”. He was right. It’s bad.
“Or is it just, like, a big April Fool’s joke that went all Groundhog Day on us?”
Now that’s a fine recipe for a horror movie. Unfortunately it’s been produced as a reality TV show with a cast of 7 billion plus.
And yet he still got a standing ovation… sheesh.

One helluva lot, at a guess.
I obviously don’t agree that Trump has been treated worse than any politician in history, but he definitely should be…
Rob, are you sure they weren’t just getting up to leave?
