“Their agenda is not your agenda”
Jim Acosta of CNN tweets what Trump said at the theocratic fascist rally at the Kennedy Center (of all places) last night:

My administration is transferring power outside of Washington and returning it to where it belongs, the people. The fake media is trying to silence us, but we will not let them. The people know the truth. The fake media tried to stop us from going to the White House, but I’m president and they’re not.
The fact is the press destroyed themselves because they went too far. Instead of being subtle and smart, they used the hatchet, and the people saw it right from the beginning.
The dishonest media will not stop us from accomplishing our objectives on behalf of the American people. Their agenda is not your agenda.
He’s hate-mongering, in a very fascist way. He is inciting violence, and he’s not going to stop.
As a parent (and while I won’t claim to have been a good one, I was at least not a horrible one, and my son managed to grow up well), as a daughter of parents, as a sister of parents, and as an observer of parents, I think it is safe to say that this is false. Parents have no clue how to best raise their children, and simply stumble through the labyrinth and some of them manage not to screw their children up too badly.
Bureaucrats don’t know how to raise children, either. No one does. It’s total trial and error, though there are certain things that I think we can put as don’ts. Don’t let your child play on a busy highway at rush hour. Don’t let your child play with wild alligators. Don’t let your child sky dive without a parachute. Don’t let your child anywhere near Donald Trump. Those are things that I think are safe to say are bad ways to raise children. As for good? You can love them – but too much of that can be bad. You can educate them – but what’s the right way? I’d rather trust the experts on that. You can allow them to be who they are – but some children (probably most) need guidance to recognize that being who they are has to work within the context of allowing other people the same freedom.
Oh, and in my previous posts, as for trusting the experts on educating children, that come with the caveat that, as an educator, I recognize the reality that we don’t necessarily know the best way to do that, either.
Given the audience, this is probably code for 1.) teaching creationism 2.) prayer in the schools 3.) a good whuppin’ isn’t “child abuse.”
Politics played by scapegoating people: not a good look. Trump lives in some sort of fantasy world of his own creation.
One thing for sure: a cockroach would have more insight into itself and the world around it than Trump has.
“Donald Trump was on Sunday accused of encouraging his supporters to attack journalists, after he tweeted a video of himself at a pro-wrestling event throwing to the floor a man with a CNN logo for a head.”*
The Homer J Simpsons of America who voted this incredible specimen into the White House, are in for a serious disappointment, if they cannot see it coming already.

@Omar, don’t blame Homer Simpson.

Lady Mondegren:
Went there. Very good, and I take that defamation of Homer J back.
But some ship of fools must have collectively voted Trump in.
Now wait a minute. It’s just come to me in a flash! It was all those NRA members just in front of all those Homer Js queued up to vote.
Yeah. That’s it…!
Omar – It was the Phil Robertsons. They elected Donald J. Trump. (And don’t blame Honey BooBoo, either. She stated very plainly she was for Marack Obama).
Sastra, I’d add a fourth bit of the code: don’t bother to vaccinate your kids.
