Scum
Mitch McConnell is delivering an urgent warning to staffers, Republican senators and even the president himself: If Obamacare repeal fails this week, the GOP will lose all leverage and be forced to work with Chuck Schumer.
HEY MITCH
If Obamacare repeal succeeds this week (or any week) millions of people will lose health insurance.
WHICH OF THOSE IS MORE IMPORTANT YOU MISERABLE FUCK?
Funny, in kindergarten, it was a good thing when the teacher noted “plays well with others” on one’s report card. Why should things be any different for adults? Compromise and consensus are bad if it means adulterating one’s ideology or naked greed, I suppose.
You have to ask? This is MITCH MCCONNELL you’re talking about.
They’ve whipped up the base with the idea that the Democrats are spawn of Satan for years now. Working with them is a kiss of death in the Republican primaries. So yeah, it’s a terrible fate to scare his party’s senators with.
On the other hand, even Republican politicians can suffer when they propose to sicken, bankrupt, or straight-up kill many of their constituents, so they’ve wedged themselves between a rock and a hard place.
I was just reading an oh, so horrified article about how many Democrats say they can’t even bring themselves to talk to Republicans (and the article did throw in a vice versa just for balance). I wonder why that is? (No, I don’t. The polarization that is such a topic of the noise machine in this country was started by the right. The left has tried to play nicely for a long time, and many of us have finally given up. Oh, yes, there have always been people on the left who were obnoxious bullies, but it has never been systematized the way it is on the right).
