Looking at the actual video, even before he came out with the thing about glasses, I thought his body language screamed, bad eyesight. If he’s never been seen wearing glasses I think that just speaks to his screaming vanity. Rather than unable to read I suspect he’s just to damn vain to admit to a weakness, any weakness. Even something as simple as all 50+ year olds end up needing glasses*.
That said, I think he’s intellectually lazy and incurious amongst his many other faults, so it’s not like he would be a big reader or writer that aside.
* I now have cheap pairs of reading glasses at work, in the car, inside the house and in the workshop. Amazing what 18 months can do to your eyesight [scowls].
“It’s a pity he didn’t realize that makes him unable to do the job properly.”
That’s his good ol’ insecurity coming in to play yet again; that would require admitting that he is bad at something. And so instead he will brag about how awesome his reading is, but will never back it up. Just like an annoying brat I knew when I was 10-12… but that guy’s excuse was that he too was 10-12.
If Trump were completely unable to read or found it very difficult, through dyslexia, poor eyesight or whatever that in itself would not disqualify him from the Presidency.
A Good President (™) would be honest about it, have people around him to help develop formats which were accessible to him, have information on tape whenever possible, have a team of people to take notes and read them back to him, etc.
A Bad President (™), though, would refuse to acknowledge the problem, surround himself with blustering sycophants and disparage all those people who have things in their heads or on their computers which he needs to know while continuing to give a hard time to anyone who does not live up to his completely fallacious view of himself.

You know which one you got! Sadly for us all.
