It was on teevee
Trump explained on Twitter that his random remark about last night in Sweden was actually about this thing he saw on tv last night. So he’s like those people who prattle artlessly about what Joanie said as if everybody knows who Joanie is when nobody knows who Joanie is. I’ve always said his Theory of Mind was shit, and this is an excellent illustrations of that. We were supposed to understand “Sweden last night” as “that stupid thing on Fox News that Donald Trump watched last night.”
My statement as to what's happening in Sweden was in reference to a story that was broadcast on @FoxNews concerning immigrants & Sweden.

Derp.
So here is that story.

Scholarly stuff, for sure.
Not to mention that he referenced it in the same breath as Nice and Paris, which were widely reported terror attacks (admittedly he also claimed that they went unreported/under-reported).
What on Earth was that I just watched?!
The whole interview was conducted like one of Twitler’s rants – lots of dogwhistles, lots of outrage, lots of vague implications and zero evidence.
If that is what passes for ‘journalism’ on the channel that his minions prefer to watch, I’m not at all surprised that they haven’t noticed anything wrong with their dear leader. They’ve been immunised against noticing.
I’ve just noticed something that lowers my estimation of Trump even further. Yes, I was surprised such a thing was possible as well! Anyway, not only does he have a childish Theory of Mind (among many other childish traits), but he even appears to lack a … I’m going to call it Theory of Time.
Note how he phrased the refence to Sweden in his press conference: “You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden.” We can see for ourselves that the piece about Sweden is a discussion about a supposed surge in crime occurring over the last few months / a year or so, but because he saw the piece ‘last night’ he thinks that the events described in that piece also took place last night.
Does this guy have anything in his head, or did he simply stop learning after obtaining object permanence? Shit, does he even have object permanence?? I’m struggling to comprehend such a shallow puddle of a mind; I have never seen such deficiencies in reasoning outside of early primary school.

What terrifies me is the political influence Rupert Murdoch and his associates have, as if they didn’t have enough already. They have a direct line into Trump’s mind.
They know if they schedule a program for around 10pm when Trump is home the chances are he’ll be watching it. They know that as long as it plays along with his worldview, he’ll believe it. And they know if it gently massages his ego he’ll believe it even more. Getting the facts straight is not important. They can make up whatever they like about Sweden or anything else, Trump won’t notice or care.
Imagine how someone clever could carefully bring round Trump to whatever agenda they wished, over the course of just a few weeks worth of TV shows. And he’s simply not intelligent enough to realise he’s being manipulated.
