Meanwhile the mayor of San Juan has been working around the clock.
The goal is one: saving lives. This is the time to show our "true colors". We cannot be distracted by anything else. pic.twitter.com/7PAINk19xM

He's literally at a country club golfing & is calling brown people who are on the verge of dying a bunch of lazy whiners.

Not just lazy whiners, I don’t think. Lazy freeloaders. Welfare queens, basically, walking around with their hand out.
Why is she sitting like that?
@chigau – like what? Like how she’s placed herself literally as far away from Fuckface von Clownstick as it’s possible to be while still sitting in that chair, while simultanously shielding their child from him as much as possible? I’d have thought that was obvious…
Oh, you meant like with her legs like that? Probably something to do with maintaining her dignity wearing a dress that short while sitting on a chair that low.
Why is she sitting like that? Why is he sitting like that? Why is he incapable of sitting in an armchair for a photo op such that he doesn’t look as if he’s on the toilet?
OB @4, he sits leaning forward in the chair, because if you have even a trace of a sticking out stomach leaning just a tiny bit back makes it look huge. If you’ve got a largish gut (which he has), you look outright obese. He’s too vain to allow that.
As for Melania, as Karellen says it’s pretty much the only way to avoid an upskirt shot given the relative height of the chair and the camera (plus being front on).
Karallen, #3
Dignity? She’s married to Donald Trump, for fuck sake.
Another thing about those godawful chairs which might help explain why they’re both awkwardly posed; the chairs have been modelled on Victorian nursing chairs. The extra-wide seat was to comfortably contain the several layers of skirting and bustles worn at the time, the extra depth of the seat was so the nursing mother (or nursemaid) could sit back in a comfortable position, and the shortened legs allowed her to do so and keep her feet on the ground, which made it easier to make rocking movements (try rocking for a while with feet off the floor, it’s not as easy as it sounds) and stopped her from looking like a child with her feet dangling in the air.
