  Given the way Trump’s been going, it seems likely that the US won’t be funding much of anything worldwide any more for a while, so this might not make a whole lot of practical difference.

  Unless of couse Trump and the Rethuglicans carve out reproductive “education” as an exception, and offer to allocate funds worldwide, just to be able to withhold that funding out of spite. The horrible part is that they are vile enough for this to sound plausible.

  Ben, I’m glad you didn’t finish that sentence. I just had a run-in this week at my atheist meet up with a young man who didn’t think federal funds should be used to help women “manage their sluthood”. Fortunately, I was not alone in my pile on. He thinks the fact that he is willing to consider men who have a lot of sex sluts as well makes it okay for him to go around determining what makes someone a “slut” or not.

  His definition of “slut” seemed to be anyone who had sex without protection…they should have “consequences”. And no one understands: having an abortion is consequences. It isn’t like a fun day at the beach. Women don’t wake up in the morning, think about their options for the day, and say, no I’ll skip the movie, I’m bored with the beach, I don’t wanna read…oh, yeah, I guess I could have an abortion. That would be fun.
