The teenager reportedly shouted
Another day, another Allahu Akbar. Today’s location is Germany.
A police operation is underway in the German town of Heidingsfeld, part of the southern city of Würzburg, after a man launched an attack on a regional passenger train at around 9.15pm local time (1915 UTC) on Monday.
Three people were seriously injured and a fourth suffered light injuries. Another 14 are being treated for shock.
The suspect was a 17-year-old Afghan refugee.
The teenager reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” before launching the attack using a knife and axe. He was shot dead by police in Heidingsfeld as he attempted to flee the scene. His motive was not immediately clear.
If it’s true that he shouted “Allahu Akbar” then his motive is pretty clear.
Just an interesting aside: This guy had been processed and housed by an outfit called “Catholic Kolpingwerk charity”
Refugees and migrants are now big business for The Catholic Church and for various Lutheran charities as well. Lots of big bucks at stake

The Independent reports that the prosecutor says that’s not why he stabbed them, and that the stabbing had nothing to do with religious fundamentalism.
Are you referring to the incident in France or the one in Germany?
This has all become a series of copy-cat crimes committed by people who are just not that stable. Any religious component cited is just a bunch of hot air bravado on the part of the perps, I think.
The one in the French Alps.
I think you’re now saying the exact opposite of what you’ve been saying with much emphasis for a long time! Which is somewhat amusing.
I’ve thought all along – since 2001 – that a huge component of these things is just plain thrill-seeking. I think that joins up with the religious fanaticism, but I think the horror movie aspect is probably always there.
Well, In my opinion if it waddles and quacks, it’s a duck, until proven otherwise. The ‘nothing to do with religion/Islam’ reports seem rather too glib and premature. After every terrorist atrocity, reports inevitably appear that the suspect drank beer, ate pork and wasn’t religious,
Are we talking about the same thing here? As far as I know the train attack in Germany is still being reported as another Allahu Akbar attack. The one in the French Alps is the one where the prosecutor has said the stabbing was nothing to do with clothing or religion. I don’t see why we should assume the prosecutor is lying.
Here’s the Indy story.
That’s not just handwaving by bystanders, it’s the prosecutor.

Yes, I should have been more explicit, I wasn’t commenting on any particular case, but on those reports that appear after every atrocity—-“he/they weren’t observant Muslims because etc, etc”.
If a prosecutor states that there’s a non-religious motivation, I’ll accept his or her word and put it in the ‘proven otherwise category’.
@ 9 RJW
That’s very generous of you. All Muslims are jihadists until proven otherwise, but you will, at least, accept proof.
I hear some US police have similar attitudes toward black people. For example Philandro Castile was apparently confused with a robbery suspect because of his “wide-set nose”. Hey, if it’s got a nose like a duck…
Hang on – RJW didn’t say “All Muslims are jihadists.”
Silentbob, @10
You’re either attempting a rather clumsy straw man argument or you’ve made a category mistake.
I never made any such claim, my comments were on incidents of mass murder and how they were categorised.
I think you’re now saying the exact opposite of what you’ve been saying with much emphasis for a long time! Which is somewhat amusing.
Some of these latest attacks have a copy-cat element, but most of them still have some religious components.
The chap in the Alps may just be mentally ill.
