Peak inclusivity
Oxford Pro-Choice @OxProChoice
What message does this send to Oxford’s female students, @OUSUCouncil?
The Oxford Student Union has not re-affiliated to Abortion Rights because “it has made no effort to become inclusive to trans people” – meaning, presumably, that it continues to talk about women in connection with abortion rights, when any fule kno the correct thing to do now is talk about people who need abortion rights rather than women who need abortion rights. Women are just cis-privileged bitches and everyone should stop talking about them.
And who allowed Saad and Elliot to have an opinion?
“Affiliations-love.”
Ugh… As was noted by one responder, if they feel that strongly about it, they could easily choose to ALSO affiliate with an organization that reaches out to trans men on the subject, rather than deliberately distancing themselves from the first group.
“We as a group no longer want to visibly support abortion, because the abortion won’t change their wording to our satisfaction.” *foot stomp*
Shows the paucity of their reasoning and morality both. And a very good example of air-headed ‘intersectional’ feminism failing to intersect with feminism.
You know, Holms, that might need to be reworded to intersectional personism. After all, feminism still implies women, right?
Heaven forbid that we address any women’s issues at all. Let’s just drop all references to women in any issue, anywhere, anytime, and talk only about trans issues, because we are being inclusive.
Student Unionism. I doubt Saad and Elliot are people I would recognize as feminists.
Women’s officer? Shouldn’t that be People’s officer?
