Teach the children well
Did you have a look at the report on Saudi textbooks? It’s horrible, horrible stuff. It’s sickening to read. You feel despair that there are people in the world going about things in this way, ‘teaching’ children in this way. You feel disgusted with human beings.
A 2005-2006 Fourth Grade textbook on Monotheism and Jurisprudence instructs students to “hate (tubghida) the polytheists and the infidels” as a requirement of “true faith.” Incongruously, the same sentence instructs that they are not to treat the infidels “unjustly,” but does not provide any clarification of what this meant.
“ Is belief true in the following instances?
a. A man prays but hates those who are virtuous.
b. A man professes that there is no deity other than God but loves the infidels.
c. A man worships God alone, loves the believers, and hates the infidels.”
The only right answer is ‘c’ – you have to hate the infidels.
“A Muslim is forbidden to love and aid the unbelieving enemies of God…They are the people of the Sabbath, whose young people God turned into apes, and whose old people God turned into swine to punish them. As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the keepers of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christian infidels of the communion of Jesus…They are the Jews, whom God has cursed and with whom He is so angry that He will never again be satisfied [with them].
That’s 8th grade. Then in 9th grade –
“Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet said, The hour [of judgment] will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. [It will not come] until the Jew hides behind rocks and trees. [It will not come] until the rocks or the trees say, ‘O Muslim! O servant of God! There is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him.’ Except for the gharqad, which is a tree of the Jews.”
This is Saudi Arabia – our ‘ally’ – with whom we are told we ‘share values.’ It’s enough to make you sick.
Saudi Arabia… making sure the madness will not stop with the next generation!
Yes, it does disgust. It is vile stuff, but what is perhaps even more disgusting is that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia hosted the recent ‘ecumenical’ gathering in Spain to encourage all religions to work towards peace! The Nazis pretended that it was all about peace too. Is this any different? Yes, it does indeed make one feel disgusted with human beings.
I’d like to see the lesson on earning a permanent stay in paradise by giving a dog some water but not being permitted to have one around the house or to “escort” it outside. No cat would put up with being escorted but dogs live for it.
It’s very confusing. Maybe most of the students don’t pay attention in class?
Which tree is the gharqad? I want to plant a few in my back garden…..
The boxthorn, mentioned in the Book of Proverbs (22:5) as besetting the path of the wicked (Wikipedia). According to the former Jordanian minister of religious endowment, Ali Al-Faqir this is why the Israelis apparently surround their settlement with Gharqad trees…
Apparently boxthorn are true and steadfast, a bit like a dog, and would never betray their master. Oaks, poplars? More like cats, really. Bloody opportunists, the lot of them!
Textbook on Monotheism & Jurisprudence, enough to make you shout: “Wahhabi!”
Why don’t they make Mekka/Medina into a reservation for medieval-minded muslims governed by a committee of the rivaling Ayatollah’s & what have you?
Something like the Vatican. It would be good for tourism, & cut the monopoly of Wahhabi’s on sponsoring mosques abroad.
What probably isn’t in the textbook, as taken from wikipedia: “Wahabis have been religiously criticized for labeling many major Muslim groups, such as Sufi and Shi’a Muslims, as apostates.”
So whilst we can treat them as criminal psychopaths – muslims can treat them as apostates: it all comes together ;-)
Perhaps somebody could draw this to the attention of the Saudi government the next time they say how keen they are to fight the war on terror. Perhaps also somebody could bring it to the attention of Kim Howells the next time he talks about “shared values”:

Brian,
I can sympathize with your feelings but
“As for moderate Islam? Can somebody please point me in the direction of its whispering voice?”
Moderate Islam, dunno, but for moderate muslims: I’d invite you to Antwerp when convenient for you – there are 1000s of them – unfortunately also 1000s of this other kind.
Do they speak up? No. Should they? No – the less they shout, the more they are like the rest of us transitioning from passive catholicism to pure ceremonial catholicism to …
“The punishment for homosexuality is death”
Ibn Qudamah said,
“The companions of the Prophet were unanimous on killing, although they differed in the description, that is, in the manner of killing.
Some of the companions of the Prophet stated that [a homosexual] is to be burned with fire.
It has also been said that he should be stoned, or thrown from a high place”
“Other things have also been said”
I shudder in my sneakers – contemplating what ‘other things have also been said”.
It is such scary stuff.
Is it any wonder Muslim’s feel and act the way they do – when, from young ages, they, by Muslim religious teachers, are fed this grotesque kind of kit.
It is absolutely diabolical.
One has not got a dog’s chance of survival if one steps out of line in Saudi Arabia. The writing is placed on the Muslim school blackboard.
Crikey, I would hate to live in Saudi Arabia.
