As an Arthur Machen fan, sometimes I feel like I’m getting hit from BOTH sides…or ignored, which is slightly better…One wonders if there are some unknowns lurking around who if given the same exposure would be “huge”–whether legitimately, or due to more well-placed hype.
And don’t get me started on music…

Yes, I think it’s safe to assume there are plenty of unknowns lurking around who would be huge if given enough hype. But since there are also plenty of knowns lurking around who are huge because of hype, I’m not sure I’m very worried about it.
A rather jaundiced view, that. Sorry.
