Another “your periodic reminder”
This again. Yet again. No, dude, it’s not your call. We don’t need your permission. You’re not the boss of us.
Feminism has nothing to do with being trans, so there is zero reason for feminism to be “trans-inclusive.” If the claim being smuggled in is that feminism has to “include” men who identify as women in feminism then it’s obviously bullshit, because feminism doesn’t have to “include” men any more than BLM has to “include” white people. Feminism gets to be for and about women and only women, and that’s all there is to it. It’s not for hipster dudes to tell us otherwise.
Who asked you? Why are you stepping up to police feminism?
In other words the people you know think like you. Imagine my astonishment.
How nice of the patronizing man to help guide women who are “unsure” what they think about feminism that is “inclusive” of men. How kind of him to tell them what to think.
So? indeed.
“…is discontinuous with real feminism.” Dude doesn’t English very well.
“The feminist philosophers that I know” – I wonder if this guy has heard of a thing called sample bias. His twitter tagline includes “I teach philosophy at UBC. I write about knowledge and related topics” so he bloody well does, he just isn’t applying it.
If there is one thing these Tranz warz have taught me, it’s that philosophers are just as prone to smug self-blindness in reasoning as any other internet denizen. Here’s a previous hit of his:

Also, its all so completely without any manipulative intent on his part. It’s just a good old fashioned near-Biblical search for Truth.
“Now we see, as through a glass darkly…” But dark with what?
Some people are condemned to a lifetime of seeing the world through glasses that are no more than little fish tanks filled with liquid bullshit. How fortunate for not just him but all the rest of us that Ichikawa can see so clearly through it all.
No, it isn’t. “Periodic reminders” are for things like daylight savings time, car maintenance, mammograms, and changing the battery in your smoke detector. Nobody gives periodic reminders for acceptable philosophical positions.
The word he is looking for is “threat.”
This is your frequently reiterated threat.
Has a nice ring to it.
I dare say whole books, whole libraries even, could be filled with the things you haven’t done, matey.
All these people who claim that “feminism is trans inclusive”, I’d like to know, since when? Was it when feminists were fighting for the vote? Were they fighting for pantomime dames who’d been denied the vote? What about when feminists were fighting against FGM? Was there an issue back then with the external genitalia of trans girls getting removed? Were the genitalia of trans boys remaining intact? What about when women couldn’t get credit cards in their own names? Were trans women not getting credit cards? Were trans men getting credit cards? What about backyard abortions? Were trans women dying then, or going to jail? No? Were trans men getting good abortion care in hospital? No?
And subsequent to all that, what the heck do you think feminism is, if it’s “trans inclusive” (let’s just be honest, you mean male inclusive and male centering), what are actual women getting out of it? The crumbs left behind after men get everything they want?
How interesting that a bloke who is only interested in “feminism” if it’s all about the rights of men hasn’t noticed actual women talking about actual women’s issues before. It couldn’t possibly be because he just never fucking listened.
It’s interesting that he notes sexual harassment and all-male conferences in philosophy and then chides women for not making more noise about it. Where? At the all-male conferences? When? While being sexually harassed?
But I’m reasonably confident that he’s making that up anyway.
The word he wanted was clearly discontiguous.
